I have a tendency to get gloomy and depressed when too many worries start to pile up - the trouble with living vicariously through everyone around you. I hate gloomy, depressing people, so when I saw this title I snacked it up.If you just want someone to crawl into bed with you and understand, she understands, and she brings a hot cup of tea and warm hug with her. Her humor will perk you up. Her compassion will give you comfort. She is a good friend. Give her a read.

Great for melancholic people!!!! This is a great help for people dealing with depression

This book is an excellent resource for women coping with or avoiding depression. It shipped as scheduled and arrived in good condition. The cover had a crease and some stickers but the condition was well within the described guidelines.

The writing flows well and I enjoyed her sharing of her experiences. Sad in parts but extremely helpful.

I just finished reading this book. I found myself looking forward to reading a chapter each night. I thought her ideas were right on biblically and helpful. I especially found out myself that without goals, you will get depressed. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I felt that some of the information wasn't needed in this particular book. This book is for people who have depression. I didn't mind the short chapter on "Living with someone who is depressed", but then there was an extremely long chapter on how to counsel a depressed person. I began to get a little bored there. The chapter on how to counsel a depressed person to me just didn't make sense to me. I am depressed, how can I counsel a depressed person. ?? I read it anyways and did gain a little insight as to how counselers work. Overall it was a good book, I just thought the first half was the best.

About the Author
LAURIE LEACH has had an eclectic dog training career. She has trained and raced sled dogs, competed in agility at the local and national level with multiple dogs, and taught classes for hundreds of future assistance dogs. Based on her experiences, Laurie came to believe that pups and dogs are both smarter and emotional than you might expect. She set out to design a program for stimulating and stretching puppy minds and has shared this program for raising a gifted puppy with many clients. Now this program is available to you. Laurie hopes that once you get started, you will find it impossible to conceive of teaching your puppy less. Laurie lives in Windsor, California.

About the Author
Jeremy L. Keough, MSOT, OTR/L, is currently a staff occupational therapist for Life Care Centers of America. Jeremy earned his undergraduate degree in occupational therapy from Eastern Kentucky University and a post-professional master’s degree from Belmont University. His professional experiences include long-term care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, work hardening, acute care, and occupational therapy assistant (OTA) education. Jeremy served as the OTA Program Director at Roane State Community College and instructed the kinesiology course for 3 years. Currently, Jeremy’s interests include neurorehabilitation approaches, occupationbased practice, functional movement, and volunteering for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.     

Susan J. Sain, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, is currently a faculty member and academic fieldwork coordinator at Roane State Community College in Tennessee. Susan earned her undergraduate degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin at Madison along with a degree in Spanish. She later earned a master’s degree in health promotion/health education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Her professional experiences include adult and child psychology, longterm care, pediatrics in a variety of settings, early intervention, and academia. Susan served as the Program Director of the OTA program at Roane State Community College for 11 years and has been the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for 2 years. Susan has instructed the kinesiology course for more than 12 years. Susan has served in a variety of volunteer positions for state associations, AOTA, and NBCOT. Her current interests include international study opportunities for allied health science students and cultural diversity.      

Carolyn L. Roller, OTR/L, is currently Supervisor of Occupational Therapy at Tennessee Orthopedic Clinics, PC, specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation. Carolyn earned her undergraduate degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Her professional experiences include outpatient rehabilitation, home and job site analysis, ergonomic considerations in the wellness community, and OTA education. Carolyn was an adjunct faculty member at South College in Knoxville, TN, teaching kinesiology in the OTA program. Currently, Carolyn serves as guest lecturer and chairperson of the advisory board for the OTA program at Roane State Community College in Oak Ridge, TN. Her interests include student fieldwork education, hand rehabilitation and prevention of hand injuries in the wellness community.      

Teresa Plummer, PhD, MSOT, OTR/L, ATP, is currently an assistant professor in the School of Occupational Therapy at Belmont University. Dr. Plummer graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy from the Medical College of Virginia, her Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Belmont University, and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in occupational therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Plummer is an assistive technology professional through the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). She has extensive clinical and teaching experience and is currently an assistant professor and primary professor for assistive technology courses at Belmont University’s Entry Level Occupational Therapy Doctorate and Master’s Program. Additionally, she is employed by Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in the seating clinic. Dr. Plummer’s professional experiences include adult rehabilitation, seating, and positioning. Teresa has worked in the field of adult rehabilitation for more than 30 years. She has conducted workshops nationally and internationally in the areas of rehabilitation and assistive technology. Dr. Plummer’s research interests include wheelchair assessment, empowerment, and vision and its relationship to posture and mobility.
